Fred The Godson – “The Session” (Video)

The beat can distract from what an emcee has to say.  If a rapper spits trash on the mic this is a good thing.  Other times, we can sleep on true lyrical skill.  Frederico slows it down and kicks an acapella for those who might have missed the punchlines.   In this new series he also lets us peek in on a recent Busta Rhymes studio session.  You may have to rewind this one.

Since the early 90’s Busta has made his trademark, hyped-up appearances in music videos.  We’ve seen him try a more subdued approach the last few years but those visuals just weren’t memorable.  This time around he steps in front of and behind the camera to assist X with the direction.  Today we see the final cut when he teams up with Nicki to release more animated new sights and sounds from off of his upcoming E.L.E. 2 album.

Vintage Throwback – Busta Rhymes & ODB Freestyle (Video)

DJ Tony Touch says he’s about to drop 50 consecutive days of never seen before footage of classic hip hop.  The Piecemaker 3: Return of the 50 MCs is scheduled for a July 9th release.  Kicking off the webisodes is a 1994 freestyle featuring Busta and the late ODB at the Gavin Convention in N’Orleans.  You may have heard some of these lines before.
