In the mid-eighties G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero was one of the best animated series on television. Cobra Commander and Destro vs. the G.I. Joe team were the ultimate battles. A decade later, The Notorious B.I.G., Lil’ Kim, Lil’ Cease and DJ Enuff hit the pop top 20 with their double-platinum single. Watch this cover of “Get Money” by Junior M.A.F.I.A. and peep the detail matching the song lyrics and the video. DR. SMOOV and Baroness got this one all the way right. “And knowing is half the battle.”
A documentary video from a UK television show Diary on Passengers features some rare candid 1995 footage of The Notorious B.I.G. Few if any of the movies and videos that have surfaced since his passing have given any in-depth info on his day to day life. This documentary also features appearances from P. Diddy, Lil’ Kim, Faith Evans, Junior Mafia and more. Behind the Versace shades this video offers some insight on Christopher Wallace’s relationship with his mom, wife, daughter and people from his Brooklyn neighborhood.
If you haven’t already heard, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper used the word “nigger” at a Kenny Chesney concert last month and was recorded. In an unprecedented move, the NFL has yet to suspend him and has allowed the team to discipline him with an undisclosed fine. He has since apologized and will undergo sensitivity training. The NFL players are predominately black and while most of Riley’s team have forgiven him, it’s sure going to be interesting to watch his performance on the field this season. Continuing his countdown till The Piecemaker 3: Return of the 50 MC’s DJ Tony Touch releases footage of the Wu Tang Clan performing their classics. It was real hot at the Fever nightclub in the Bronx back in 1993.
DJ Tony Touch says he’s about to drop 50 consecutive days of never seen before footage of classic hip hop. The Piecemaker 3: Return of the 50 MCs is scheduled for a July 9th release. Kicking off the webisodes is a 1994 freestyle featuring Busta and the late ODB at the Gavin Convention in N’Orleans. You may have heard some of these lines before.
