New Tunes: M1 & Nas – “Genocide Highway”

Inspired by the 1791 Haitian Revolution, Denmark Vesey, enslaved in French Saint-Domingue (Haiti) and South Carolina, planned one of the largest slave rebellions in the United States.  He purchased his freedom (11/9/1799) and attempted to help others gain theirs. After organizing more than 9000 slaves, his plan was derailed by a handful of fearful slaves who leaked the plot to their masters.  After being brought to trial, Vesey and dozens of others were hanged.

M1 of dead prez and Nas invoke the energy of this courageous leader into a new joint produced by Beatnick and K-Salaam.  “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised”.
