Asbury Park, NJ was the site of the 10th Annual Garden State Film Festival.  One of the main features of the event was the documentary I Want My Name Back.  For many reasons this film is an absolute must see for anyone who loves music. I was invited by the film’s director Roger Paradiso to moderate a panel discussion on the early days of hip hop in the state of New Jersey.  While most people know the Bronx, NY as the birthplace of Hip Hop few are aware of the impact the state across the Hudson River made.  Editor in Chief of Producer’s Edge, Drew Spence also attended and we found out that this was the first event of its kind.  Read the rest of this entry
